# QuickBooks Online

> Connect one or more QuickBooks Online companies to your workspace, check that the connection still works, and disconnect them.

This page helps a workspace admin connect your QuickBooks Online companies to Mercora, check that each connection still works, and disconnect them. Each connected company is one sign-in by an admin.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **QuickBooks Online must be enabled for your workspace first.** It is a workspace module, off by default, and only workspace admins can open its page.
>
> While the module is off, admins see **QuickBooks Online** marked **Coming soon** under **Settings → Integrations**, the tile can't be opened, and its page isn't reachable. New connections are refused. To enable it, a workspace admin turns on **QuickBooks Online** under **Settings → Workspace → Modules**. See [Modules](https://docs.mercora.io/concepts/modules.md).

## What it's used for today

Connecting a company is the first step of the QuickBooks integration. **Today Mercora reads nothing from your books and writes nothing to them, beyond the company's name.** The connection lets you confirm that Mercora can reach the company, ready for later steps.

## Connect a company

**1. Open the QuickBooks Online page**

Go to **Settings → Integrations** and click **QuickBooks Online**. If the tile reads **Coming soon**, the module is off: see the note above.

**2. Start connecting**

Under **Connect a company**, click **Connect QuickBooks**. QuickBooks opens so you can pick the company and approve Mercora's access.

**3. Back in Mercora**

The page confirms "QuickBooks company connected." and lists the company under **Companies** as **Connected**, with who connected it and when.

Repeat for each company you want to connect.

If the page says QuickBooks isn't set up yet, or **Connect QuickBooks** is unavailable, the connection hasn't been prepared for your workspace and there is nothing to connect: ask the Mercora team.

## Check a connection

Click **Check** on a company. Mercora asks QuickBooks for the company's name and, if the connection works, confirms "QuickBooks answered for" the company.

If QuickBooks refuses the saved sign-in, the company shows **Reconnect needed**, with QuickBooks' reason. Click **Reconnect** and approve access again; the same company keeps its row.

## Disconnect a company

Click **Disconnect** on the company and confirm. Mercora gives up its access to that company and clears the saved sign-in.

If QuickBooks doesn't confirm the disconnect, Mercora still disconnects on its side and tells you so. Then also remove Mercora under **Apps** in QuickBooks.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Disconnect your companies before the **QuickBooks Online** module is turned off. While the module is off, the page can't be reached, so you can't disconnect from Mercora; saved sign-ins stay stored but unused.
